Kantar Analytics Practice is looking for a Data Scientist to join the global data science team. The team itself focuses on developing tools and approaches for understanding unstructured data (e.g. text, clickstream) and building them into products or directly on client projects. This is a critical role for the data science team and you’ll have a wide remit to help shape the future of work we do, push the boundaries of what’s possible and help to shape an excellent team of data scientists.

Key responsibilities

  • Working with product owners, engineers and developers, support the development of Kantar’s digital products through building in data science
  • Participate in analytics projects, working closely with analysts and consultants to deliver against the key business questions, including designing the analytical approach, crunching the data and applying machine learning techniques
  • Research the latest data science techniques and work with the wider data science community both internally and externally
  • Help to build and design the data science strategy for the Kantar Analytics Practice

Must have the following

  • Experience with python and modern coding practices
  • Knowledge of common statistical modelling technique and machine learning approaches
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a cross functional team

Don’t need all of them (but a healthy combination of these would be ideal!)

  • Deep learning experience applied either to text or to image
  • Prior experience with Azure cloud technologies and/or Databricks
  • A commercial mindset with a practical approach to solving the business problem
  • Experience working in a project driven environment
  • Experience building data science into production in an online platform
  • A strategic mind for data science, helping a team with roadmapping in a product environment
  • Strong team organisational skills
  • Building open source packages or writing productionised code
  • Experience in sharing knowledge with others
