The Team: The Corporate Profiles, GICS & Industry Classifications team within Corporate Data domain space is involved in research and collection of company level data for private and public companies spanning North America, Europe, Asia/Pacific, the Middle East, and Latin America. The profiles include the primary business, products and services offered, their applications or business segment details, primary client or customer groups served, distribution channels, geographic markets, strategic alliances and partnerships, plant locations, headquarters and additional offices, former or alternate names, founded year or year of incorporation, and number of employees. In addition, every company is classified industry classification as per Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS®), which is an industry taxonomy developed in 1999 by MSCI and Standard & Poor's (S&P) for use by the global financial community.

The Impact: The ‘Team Leader’ will be responsible for driving daily business operations and provide support to assist in product delivery. He/she will be responsible to optimize business performance, develop top talent, enforce business governance policies and identify appropriate tech/automation/lean solutions to manage operations at scale with limited incremental cost additions. He/she will also support the Operations lead in supporting and executing on future strategies and expansion projects. He/she will be responsible to track quantitative and qualitative metrics to measure business process quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of individual contributors who are in the process of data extraction of information from various sources, tools and documents.
  • Ensuring team members are compliant when conducting data/information collection through thorough knowledge of guidelines, policies and research tools.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day workflow management and performance of a team to ensure accuracy and efficiency of process workflows.
  • Manage the performance review process, talent development and talent management processes of the team.
  • Interact with internal and external clients as necessary and occasionally works on new projects and data enhancement initiatives as assigned.
  • Identify individual strengths to appropriately delegate work amongst the team.
  • Ensure clear and seamless communication across levels and teams.
  • Train the subsequent batches that would be a part of the Company Profiles data set
  • Communicate with the people managers and teams based in same different locations

  • Thorough knowledge of business and data/content management objectives.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills and familiarity with relational database concepts.

  • Provide solutions based on best practices and existing precedents.
  • Acts independently and manage projects from start to finish.

  • Frequent interaction with internal and external clients to solve business issues or inquiries.

  • Maintains high ethical standards, both personally and professionally.

Talent Development:

  • Manage the performance of team members and conduct reviews.
  • Conduct intensive trainings for the team.
  • Plan resource requirements and develop back-up and succession plans.
  • Manage the aspirations of team members and create an environment of continuous improvement.

Basic Qualification:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent experience required.

Preferred Qualification:

  • 1-3 years of team leading experience.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI etc.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office apps and working knowledge of SQL.
  • Familiar with LEAN and Six sigma concepts.
  • Exposure to data science, machine learning, and other emerging tech would be preferred.
