Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

• Under direction of a degreed engineer, performs a variety of basic to moderately-difficult engineering support assignments requiring a fundamental knowledge of software development standards, practices, and techniques. The incumbent at this level typically takes engineering notes, specifications, rough prototypes, etc., and formalizes them into working software. Assignments are designed to develop a practical knowledge of languages, software development lifecycles, and systems, and their interrelationships within a particular engineering discipline.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilizes a Linux or Windows workstation to design and development various levels of software applications and functionality, from rough pseudo code and prototypes to fully functional features. Documentation of features and user guides may be required depending on project. May work in an Agile environment using Atlassian products, such as Confluence and Jira to track and document work.

• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Incumbent must be enrolled in an Software Engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university and have completed typically 1+ year of studies in a major Engineering discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.).

Salary Range:

$20.63 – $36.11
