This Opportunity

On the research team you will show researchers how to push the envelope of what is possible with healthcare data. You will collaborate with a world-class team of engineers, scientists, clinicians, and product managers throughout the process.

In this role, you will:

  • Apply your scientific knowledge and domain expertise to process/wrangle data, perform and publish analyses, identify problems, devise solutions and construct repeatable methodologies to inform metrics and best practices.
  • Conduct and publish applied research with the goal of improving patient outcomes and a commitment to meticulous clinical and scientific rigor.
  • Use methods and approaches from experimental design with observational data, data weighting methods, generalized linear models, survival analysis, longitudinal data analysis, time series analysis, and/or spatial data analysis to understand differences in patient outcomes across a wide variety of medical domains.
  • Be the voice of the customer and help drive the ideation, technical development, and launch of a research solution that helps clinicians and researchers solve real world problems.
  • Establish shared vision of research and build consensus on priorities leading to research and product execution.
  • Partner in building the product, presenting the needs and materials from the research domain to both technical and non-technical audiences so that the product can adapt to researchers’ needs.

Key Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Epidemiology, HEOR or related field.
  • You are an expert in causal inference for observational data, data weighting methods, generalized linear models/mixed-effects models/hierarchical models, survival analysis, longitudinal data analysis, and/or time series analysis. (Bonus for experience in spatial data analysis)
  • You are an expert with 5+ years of hands-on statistical programming experience with R and SQL. (Bonus for experience with Python and Spark)
  • 5+ years of experience in a research context developing and executing statistical analysis plans the results of which have been published in academic journal articles, preferably in a health sciences context. (Bonus for experience in the public health domain as a statistician)
  • 5+ years of experience working with large, complex/messy, longitudinal real-world data sources, such as EHR, registry, or claims data.
  • 3+ years of experience working with remote/cloud computing resources as well as data stored in SQL databases, data warehouses, or other forms of remote storage.
  • 3+ years of experience working closely with product/program management and presenting material from the research domain to non-technical audiences.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a cross functional team to deliver data science products and research under tight deadlines.
  • Strongly self-motivated and self-directed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • The base pay for this position is $154,000 to $214,000. The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target. Pay is based on several factors including location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional compensation such as incentive pay and stock options.
