As the Engineering Manager for the Workflow Platform team at Pinterest, you will lead a talented group of engineers focused on the workflow systems that enable almost all scheduling of data processing jobs powering Pinterest products. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with other engineering teams to help them move fast and build awesome features rapidly on top of your systems. You’ll also work closely with other backend teams in the Data Engineering org to evolve our big data architecture to the next level. This is a unique opportunity to build a mission-critical capability at Pinterest, enabling more than thousand engineers to run thousands of workflows and tens of thousands of jobs everyday.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, working on the Workflow Scheduling Platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand changing requirements and incorporate them into the roadmap
• Own and drive the vision for big data workflow products and platforms
• Provide technical leadership and guidance, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team
• Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and offer career development guidance to engineers on the team, helping them grow both technically and professionally

What we’re looking for:

• 2+ years of experience in an engineering management role, leading teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners
• Passion for fostering a culture of innovation, learning, and continuous improvement
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, as well as algorithm and data structures
• Airflow / Azkaban / Kubernetes experience, a plus
