Job Description

What You'll Do:

• Own the full Data Science lifecycle from conception to prototyping, testing, deploying, and measuring its overall business value
• Develop and scale state-of-the-art machine learning methods and quantitative models to address core business problems
• Uncover deep insights hidden in our vast repository of raw data and provide tactical guidance on how to act on findings
• Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to create maintainable, scalable and debuggable code by bringing strong software development practices
• Drive any potential scientific publications based on the results in major Data Science and Machine Learning conferences or workshops
• Bonus: You will learn a ton and will have fun

What You'll Need:

• Previous exposure to machine learning, e.g. within your MA or PhD studies
• Interest/experience in any one/more of the following areas:
• Deep Learning
• NLP
• You are looking to gain some industry experience as part of your university course or as an entry opportunity
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Pragmatic approach to problem-solving
• Desire to always be learning, and a collaborative team-player attitude!

There are several machine learning science teams that cover a number of different thematic domains. You will work in Search & Recommendations. We build machine learning systems for the retrieval and ranking of products to display to customers, as well as recommendations and personalization in emails and banners. Methodologies involve search query classification, search query understanding, search query guidance, and search relevance scoring.
