The pay range is $124,100.00 - $223,400.00

The Financial and Retail Services (FRS) organization is close to the action—whether with guests or Target team members. A Sr. Manager Risk, Modeling & Analytics will have a breadth of skills and experience across data analysis and risk management to build high quality strategies and methodologies that enable data driven decision making at Target. They will help advance Target’s Credit Card Strategy through technical creativity, curiosity, drive, continuous learning, and collaborative problem solving while championing an inclusive and ethical organization.

As a Sr Manager focusing on Credit Risk Strategy you will you will evaluate, develop, and test underwriting strategies for new accounts and portfolio management, including approve/decline decisions, product selection, credit limit assignment, and credit limit increases. The goal is to drive Target sales and optimize the profitability of the credit portfolio. The position requires strong data manipulation and analytical skills as well as the ability to present results to business partners and senior management.

About You:

  • Master’s degree in Quantitative disciplines (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Data Science)
  • 5+ years of professional experience or equivalent industry experience with expertise in one or more of the following areas: application underwriting, credit limit management, collections strategies, fraud strategies, payments, banking, ACH
  • Experience in using advanced statistical techniques like regression, clustering, decision trees, forecasting (time series), machine learning etc.
  • Passion for solving interesting and relevant real-world problems using a data science approach
  • Strong analytical thinking skills. Ability to creatively solve business problems, innovating new approaches where required
  • Strong hands-on programming skills in SAS, SQL, Python, R
  • Ability to produce reasonable documents/narrative suggesting actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-driven and results oriented
  • Strong team player with ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as Flex for Your Day) work arrangement based on Target's needs.  A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.  A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
