The pay range is: $112,715.00 - $129,800.00

JOB POSITION: Senior Data Scientist

LOCATION: 7000 Target Parkway North, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445

DUTIES:

• Perform data exploration and analysis applying principles of machine learning algorithms, linear algebra, probability theory, statistics and optimization theory.
• work on different initiatives across supply chain by applying mathematical algorithm, problem-solving and coding skills to manage big data and extract valuable business insights.
• implement advanced statistical techniques including regression, clustering, forecasting (time series), principal component analysis.
• collaborate with business partners from transportation, first-mile imports, operations intelligence, store operations to understand their needs and provide actionable recommendations through advanced data mining, regression, and optimization techniques.
• prepare and clean supply chain data across all network nodes to feed network simulator; and examine freshness replenishment process through deep statistical analysis and provide recommendations to support better continuous improvement. Tools and technologies used:
  • Python, JupyterLab, Hive, Hadoop, GitHub, Greenfield, Cognos, Automation Portal, Minitab, JDA (Blue Yonder).

REQUIREMENTS:

• This position requires a Master’s degree in Statistics, Business Analytics, Operations Research, or a closely related field and at least three (3) years of experience in data analysis (any title) conducting demand forecasting and capacity planning/seasonality predictions, and at least one (1) year of experience with optimization, simulation, and regression (any title) creating and managing large datasets and Hive tables in databases to store historical forecast data, building forecast and track forecast accuracy, using Cognos to create automatic report, conducting statistical analysis with Minitab, investigating forecast algorithm with JDA (Blue Yonder), establishing forecast metrics, performing data cleaning, creating sustainable data visualization, and utilizing data mining skills, lean methodology, SQL, Hive, Hadoop, visualization/reporting platforms (such as Tableau or Power BI), and automation tools.
