Job Description

This position will give you the opportunity to be part of the Mask Solutions and Smart Manufacturing Group responsible for designing and developing software tools for computational lithography used by the major semiconductor companies in the world. It includes modeling, Optical Proximity Correction, and Inverse Lithography technologies proven in production at advanced technology nodes. A successful candidate will be expected to have commitment to write efficient and robust software programs by following industry best practices and keep up with advancements in photolithography. They should be result oriented with passion to work on large scale distributed software system that manipulate images and geometry based graphical data, and solid focus on customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement efficient data structures and algorithms in the field of computational geometry, image processing, linear and non-linear optimization.
  • Create script-level application code to facilitate the extension and manipulation of Mask synthesis tools.
  • Develop understanding of new application requirements at the early exploratory stage. Work with the field teams on clarifying customer requirements and deploying new features.
  • Write design and specification documents to help architect a solution that addresses the product needs.
  • Disseminate application expertise to Synopsys field support engineers to enable them to adapt mask synthesis solutions to customer specific requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues. Document and maintain existing software functionality.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the team and cross-functional working groups, including Application Engineers, Quality Assurance and Technical Publications.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in CS, EE, Applied Math, or related engineering field with 5+ years of software development experience.
  • Intermediate to high level software programming skills, preferably in C++ or Python.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining large complex software in UNIX/LINUX environment.
  • Experience building software tools in the areas of applied math, image/signal processing, computer vision, tomography, or non-linear optimization systems.
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning and GPU based acceleration is a plus.
  • Great problem-solving skills and quick learner. Structured and organized.
  • Proven ability to interface and develop relationship with internal and external customers.

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $106,000-$185,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. Synopsys offers comprehensive health, wellness, and financial benefits as part of a of a competitive total rewards package. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
