Job Description

We are looking for a Manager to join our London team of Data Science Consultants. This is a key role within Ekimetrics, your focus being on delivering analytics projects that will lead to significant, value-led transformation for our clients. You’ll be acting as a strategic partner to our clients, gaining a deep understanding of their needs and offering the most effective solutions, providing impactful and useful insights to help steer their revenue or data strategies, and building long term relationships.

With regards to commercial activities, you’ll be involved in prospection activities and proposals for new business opportunities and be an ambassador for Ekimetrics both internally and externally. You’ll bring real value into our projects by helping client stakeholders define marketing and strategic direction and implement necessary changes to achieve sustainable performance improvement.

But being a Manager at Ekimetrics is about more than being a great consultant. It’s about being a role model, engaging your team, and contributing to the growth and health of Ekimetrics UK and of the wider Eki community. Working closely with management teams, you’ll lead thought leadership initiatives, be actively involved in Eki Life, and own strategic pillars to help us become the reference in data science solutions.

You also have people management responsibilities which require you to develop and coach a small team of Data Science consultants, ensuring they are motivated and have clear pathways for growth. You will manage their performance evaluations and provide constant and impactful feedback, paving the way for the immense talent coming through our doors.

Accountabilities

  1. Account Management
  • Ownership on the client relationship of the managed accounts, building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients at Exec level;
  • Ensure the day-to-day operational management of key accounts and coordinate several projects simultaneously;
  • Cultivating your external network with a client centric approach;
  • Ensuring profitability and quality delivery of all projects.
  1. Data Science & Modelling
  • Responsible for the production of statistical and econometrics modelling;
  • Ensure the respect of Ekimetrics standards of Excellence on the strategic recommendations delivered;
  • Ability to manage data science consultants across multiple accounts.
  1. Business Management
  • Lead strategic consulting missions for key clients around the company portfolio;
  • Establish and utilise your network to identify and provide new business opportunities for Ekimetrics.
  • Designing and scoping new projects, using the right analyses to answer client questions;
  • Participating in and contributing to prospection activities;
  • Delivering with excellence – ensuring high client satisfaction and making sure that issues are raised and resolved in a timely manner;
  • Ensuring client business cases are achievable and Ekimetrics has appropriate ability to influence promised outcomes;
  • Driving client retention and growing new business opportunities.
  1. People Management & Development
  • Recruit and align resources to hire, develop staff, manage performance, and create/enhance data scientists at all levels;
  • Actively work with the team to improve engagement, retain top performers and support the development of future Eki leaders;
  1. Eki Life
  • Helping support our team and business growth by contributing to local and global initiatives, such as, Thought-Leadership, Knowledge Management, Recruitment, Culture, and Diversity teams, and building Data Engineering/Architecture capabilities in the office.

About You

We are looking for someone who is able to wear 2 hats – the data scientist and the strategic consultant – and so you’ll need to show both advanced analytics skills and a strong interest in marketing & business strategy.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Prior experience in data science, analytics and modelling in a business setting, preferably in a consulting firm or other relevant service provider; Or leadership within a highly regarded global corporation with a strong reputation for analytics;
  • A degree in statistics, engineering, applied mathematics, or related analytical field;
  • An ability to conduct business & strategy assignments in order to create value and innovative customer engagements;
  • A love of data, extensive knowledge in statistics or applied mathematics, and experience with techniques such as Machine Learning;
  • Experience with software such as R, Stata, or Python
  • A proven track record of building successful business plans leading to business development;
  • The capacity to develop high impact thought leadership that articulates a forward-thinking view of the market.

  • Excellent communication skills – especially translating complex technical findings into insights and stories for stakeholders (internal and external);
  • A demonstrated ability to develop new and long-lasting client relationships at senior levels across multiple industries and sectors;
  • An ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated;
  • A team-oriented and collaborative working style, both with clients and within Ekimetrics;
  • People management experience and demonstrated ability to develop younger talent and build a high performing team, (this doesn’t necessarily mean you have directly managed a team; this could relate to mentorship, project team management, etc.);
  • Project management and delivery expertise; and
  • A passion for joining a small team and desire to help the business grow quickly.
