Job Description

As a Senior Data Scientist you analyse, enrich and build machine learning solutions on top of the richest data sources of the bank. Together, the people in our data science area create solutions that are of value to our customers and help to fight financial and economic crime.

You and your job

Your experience of building data science solutions and working with billions and billions of records of data will be your main guide during your day-to-day job while you provide valuable insights for more than 7 million customers. As a Senior Data Scientist you will work with a state-of-the-art data science toolkit and collaborate closely with a team of experienced data scientists and data engineers in an agile environment. We are currently looking for senior data scientists for different squads. 

Practical Examples of the squads that we are recruiting for:

• The TM modelling team helps identifying the riskiest possible money laundering cases based on customer behavioural data
• In the Category team we build a functionality that categorizes all the payments in the Rabobank App which provides spending insights for millions of customers
• In the Risk Detection team we build solutions to detect financial and economic crime based on various data sources (incl. unstructured data) and apply techniques such as anomaly detection, natural language processing and network analysis.

Facts & Figures

• You work with ~150 other data scientists, data engineers and ML Ops engineers from various backgrounds and 15+ nationalities
• Monthly learning sessions to share ideas and exchange knowledge with data scientists, engineers and product managers
• The department has end-to-end responsibility of 10+ ML solutions

Top 3 responsibilities

• Bring value to the business by designing, developing and deploying models in a responsible way to ensure a smooth validation process and tangible business impact;
• Make impact with new data science use cases by practicing your communication skills and effectively sharing your observations with stakeholders;
• Prove the added value of MLOps by identifying flaws at the earliest possible moment and implement the best MLOps practices accordingly. After all, you and your team are end-to-end responsible for the ML solutions you develop together!

You and your talent

• Master or PhD degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Data science, Computer Science or related field
• >5 years of relevant working experience in data science and a strong statistical background
• Experience with Python,Git, PySpark and Databricks
• Experience with Azure DevOps and software engineering is a plus
• Wants to get better every day
• Hands-on mentality
• Strong communication skills

This is what we offer you

• A salary based on your experience from € 4718,88 up to € 6000 gross per month based on 36-hour work week (scale 10).
• An extra budget of 11% of your gross salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings or ask for part of the extra budget to be paid out.
• Thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance
• A personal development budget of € 1,400- per year paid out every January.
