Are you the one who will ensure that the quality of the Wholesale and Rural CDD Models is fit for purpose, amidst a dynamic regulatory landscape?

You and your job

The W&R KYC Center was set up to support the work of the W&R KYC triangle of Business, Compliance and Operations with strong operational oversight, steering, ongoing standardization and striving for excellence in relation to KYC in the W&R regions and business units.

The CDD Model Management team within the W&R KYC Center researches, designs, and implements statistical models on an on-going basis to support the KYC Center functions. The team is newly-formed and presents real growth opportunities for new joiners.

Key objective of the CDD Model Management department is to support the W&R regions and business lines to ensure full compliance on our CDD Models. These models are used to structure the CDD risk analysis and determine the risk rating of our clients. The main focus of the department is currently the implementation of a new and improved CDD Model in the W&R regions. Ultimately, the aim is to work towards an integrated KYC model.

As a Data Scientist your main focus is working on the redevelopment and improvement of the CDD Risk Model – a quantitative model that gives risk ratings on newly onboarded customers within our Wholesale and Rural business. This requires knowledge within all KYC areas as well as strong Model affinity.

• Present quantitative results in a clear and coherent manner to non-technical stakeholders
• Consult with stakeholders to identify helpful additional quantitative analyses
• Translate regulatory and procedural requirements into concrete model related actions
• Have the ability to independently set up, conduct, and document quantitative experiments

Top 3 responsibilities

• Develop, document, and improve on the CDD models while utilizing the best industry practices
• Discuss policy changes and their impact on the CDD models with various stakeholders ranging from IT teams to KYC analysts
• Lead alignment between the technical and non-technical stakeholders involved with the CDD models

With you as KYC Data Scientist, the department within the W&R KYC Center will consist of 15 colleagues (further expanding in the near future) in a variety of roles and focus on supporting the work of the W&R KYC triangle of Business, Compliance and Operations across Wholesale and Rural. You and your talent

• Academic degree (MSc / Phd) in Econometrics, Data Science, Mathematics or a related quantitative field
• 2+ years’ experience in advanced analytics / modelling / artificial intelligence activities working with Python (or similar languages such as R, Matlab); Experience working with relational databases (SQL)
• Understanding of core statistical and machine learning tools such as regressions, statistical tests, decision tree based algorithms
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Be pro-active, have a business focus and can-do mentality; Be able to autonomously work on a loosely defined task from start to finish.
• Nice to have: work experience in KYC field

This is what we offer you

• € 3.807,44 up to € 5.437,98 gross per month (scale 9).
• An Employee Benefit Budget (11% of your monthly salary). You decide how to spend this budget. This may include purchasing extra leave days, making extra pension contributions or even receiving a monthly cash pay-out.

• Flexible working times and location-independent working (within the Netherlands).
