Job Description

Peraton Labs is looking for a talented and experienced Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database backends and experience with one or more of the following: Neo4j, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or Elasticsearch. The role involves working with a team of data scientists and engineers to design, develop and maintain scalable, high-performance database systems to support our data-driven applications.

• Design and develop database architectures and data models for our data-driven applications
• Optimize database performance and scalability
• Develop and maintain data pipelines to ingest and process large volumes of data
• Development of machine learning processes and analytics to train and classify data
• Build and maintain data visualizations and dashboards to support business intelligence and analytics
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to identify and solve data-related challenges
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in database development and data science

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Required:

• BS 10-12, MS 8-10, Phd 5-7
• 3+ years of experience in database development and management
• Strong proficiency in one or more of the following: Neo4j, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or Elasticsearch
• Proficiency in Python
• Experience with data modeling and optimization techniques
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• US Citizenship

Additional Desired Skills 

• Algorithm analysis, data structures, and coding for efficiency and performance 
• Test-driven development; writing unit tests, instrumenting code for performance metrics 
• Container and Orchestration solutions, including Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Terraform 
• Experience in development of cloud solutions, particularly within Microsoft Azure environments.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
