Job Description

Peraton is looking for an experienced Mid-level Data Scientist to join our mission of creating Decision Advantage for the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM). This is a unique opportunity to make a direct impact on the way the Department of Defense moves its troops, supplies, and equipment.

The position is for a mid-level data scientist who can apply their machine learning knowledge and experience to transform data into actionable information to provide leaders with time, space, and options in decision making. You will work on a broad spectrum of projects including time-series forecasting, classification, regression, optimization, natural language processing, and deep learning to modernize the way USTRANSCOM operates and transform the command into a data-driven enterprise

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience, or a Masters and 3-5 years, or PhD with 0-2 years
• Development and implementation of enterprise-level data science solutions experience
• Knowledge of various machine learning methods including classification, regression, time-series forecasting, neural networks, deep learning, and artificial intelligence.
• Strong Python skills
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (interim clearance required to commence task work)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQL, AWS, Subversion, and/or Neo4j
• Familiarity with USTRANSCOM processes and systems
• Active DoD Secret Clearance
