Job Description

Dow Jones Information Services is seeking a Principal Product Manager to assist with driving its growth efforts as we reimagine our Factiva, Newswires and Risk and Compliance products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with key stakeholders to lead and define the product vision and strategy.
  • Keeping up to date on search technology and trends in relation to Dow Jones search functions
  • Collaboration and partnership to optimize and grow search strategy which includes, but not limited to, the underlying metadata and content enrichment, search intelligence such as query enhancements and recommendations, and search usage analytics.
  • Working with engineering teams to gather and analyze audience research and traffic to inform product strategy, new products and enhancements.
  • Definition of new product specifications, user stories and details taking a user-focused approach to product development.
  • Planning and executing (agile) roadmaps
  • Define and measure KPIs for success.
  • Collaborating with marketing, editorial, commercial and customer teams on a go to market and communication plan.
  • Leverage data and customer insights to make data informed decisions.
  • Analyzing customer and user interaction data as part of developing user-focused search solutions
  • Leverage LEAN Product development approach in bringing new products to market quickly and for ongoing iteration.

Requirements:

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about search and discovery covering the following at least one of the primary search domains:
  • Knowledge graph
  • Semantic search
  • Natural Language Processing
  • Taxonomy and/or ontologies
  • Recommendation systems
  • Strong analytical skills, specifically related to search intelligence..
  • Experience defining and implementing product requirements for search.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively across the full spectrum of internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Proven ability partnering with a technology organization.
  • Highly strategic as well as detail-oriented.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent education focused on information or data science, taxonomy, NLP/NLU, human-machine interaction, data management, data enrichment.
  • 3+ years of Product Management experience in search applications.
