Job Description

The Marketing, Services and Sales Analytics Team in Visa support Business users in Sales, Product, Client Services, Global Client Care and Marketing Teams in providing access to insights using Data Science, AI/ML.

As a Staff Data Scientist in the team, you will be responsible for building and deploying machine learning models for multiple use cases such as Sales propensity models, Sales upsell, Cross sell, Sales forecasting, Product recommendation and Sales activity recommendation models to generate smart pipelines for Sales teams. For customer services, build models to analyze customer service cases and build AI based automation systems to resolve cases quickly and enable self-service for our customers. Based on deep understanding and knowledge of data science and machine learning/AI techniques, you will develop and maintain models to improve customer and employee experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with Business stakeholders to understand Business requirements and desired business outcomes that can be optimized or improved by using Data, AI and ML.
• Perform exploratory data analysis on CRM and enterprise data and explore internal Visa and external sources of data for training and building predictive models.
• Build and deploy machine learning inference models, monitor performance in production, remediate model drift and integrate inference results with applications such as MS Dynamics.
• Provide insights from data and present results, outcome, and explanations for results to Business users and stakeholders.
• Build models on structured or unstructured data and data at rest or streaming data
• Collaborate with team members to deliver innovative technologies, insights to Visa business units to drive sales, save costs, facilitate data driven Business decisions, improve operations and efficiency gains.
• Research emerging trends and published papers in AI and Machine learning and apply learnings to solve Business problems.
• Help define financial and analytic metrics to measure development and production outcomes and produce performance reports.
• Support sales and marketing efforts with sound statistical and financial analysis and execute ad-hoc analyses to meet the fast-changing market demand.
• Establish Data Science Center of excellence in India and provide thought leadership for usage of ML Models to drive growth.
• Lead data science and AI initiatives and partner with Business to deploy models in production.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Five or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications :

• Five or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than three years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, Phd)
• Master’s degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related technical field preferred
• 4+ years’ experience in data-based decision-making or quantitative analysis
• Extracting and aggregating data from large data sets using SQL/Hive or Spark
• Analyzing large data sets using programming languages such as Python, R, SQL and/or Spark
• Generating and visualizing data-based insights in software such as Tableau or Power BI
• Proficiency in data analytics, data mining, machine learning, and related fields.
• Knowledge of Text mining, Natural Language Processing, Pattern recognition, Deep Learning, Graph algorithms required
• Proficiency in Python, Jupiter notebooks required
• Proficiency in IBM Watson APIs and Opensource ML/AI frameworks like Tensorflow, Pytorch etc nice to have
• Experience in building inference model APIs and scaling APIs preferred
• Knowledge of Hadoop and components like Hive, Oozie, Sqoop, Airflow, Nifi, Spark
• Knowledge of Kafka, Airflow, Apache Flint, Spark Streaming, Microservices, Building data products nice to have
• Knowledge of Data engineering (ETL and ELT) and Data warehousing concepts nice to have
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL, Graph database concepts, systems architecture, and data structures
• Proficiency in Linux, Windows, Databases (Oracle, Sql server), SQL, Graph database(Neo4j)
• Excellent communication skills
