Job Description

The candidate will work as part of the Appian development core team, to build and support applications, to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the technology organization. This role will participate in design, development, testing and support of Appian applications and ensure successful delivery of business capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in developing technical solutions in business process management & low code/no code area.

Essential Functions

• Design, develop, test, document, deploy, and support high quality business solutions on Appian platform.
• Able to work on multiple projects and initiatives with different/competing timelines and demands.
• Work with limited direction, usually within a complex environment, to drive delivery of solutions and meet service levels.
• Mentor Jr developers and oversee programming functions to ensure that functionalities developed are secure, reliable and fulfill business expectations.
• Coordinate with other developers and stakeholders regarding status, technical issues and creative solutions.
• Comfortable working with both technical and business staff, and flexible in working on a wide variety of tasks spanning the full application development life cycle and maintenance.
• Ability to evaluate & then guide business stake holders on improving product & features.
• Implement best development practices for efficiency like leveraging re-use, eliminating duplicative components, efficient architectural design.
• Create documentation and procedures while maintaining best practices and following Visa's methodology for development, installation, and maintenance.
• Ability to work within the framework of security, privacy, compliance & risk.

Flex Work Arrangement - Hybrid Position - This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of overall development experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in developing Appian SAIL based applications.
• 2-4 years of experience integrating to other systems using connected systems & web services components.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in developing Appian plugins.
• Relevant Appian certification would be preferred, not mandatory.
• Experience in Java development using Spring framework.
• Experience in building database queries and stored procedures.
• Experience/familiarity with AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) would be preferred but not mandatory
• Experience with Cybersecurity principles of secure coding, component security, application security, user security, groups & permissions, web services security
• Familiarity with Appian administration like authentication setup, API setup, plugin setup, user setup
• Excellent process orientation, planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, facilitation skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex software development issues.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a complex organization to determine business needs, customer needs and providing the best solution to meet those needs.
• Proactive thinking with a ‘can do’ attitude.
• Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or Engineering discipline.
