Job Description

Zoox is developing fully autonomous vehicles and the supporting ecosystem required to bring the technology to market at scale. Sitting at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and design, Zoox aims to provide the next generation of mobility-as-a-service in urban environments. We believe the transition to self-driving vehicles requires a combination of elegant vision and uncompromising execution.

The Data team enables data-driven decision-making at scale so that Zoox can test ideas rapidly and make decisions effectively. We are looking for a leader to develop a business intelligence group within the Zoox Data organization. We are the central Data team at Zoox, supporting embedded science and analytics teams across Infrastructure, AI, Safety, Product, and Operations among others.

You will help our existing stakeholders determine the value of investments in dashboards to support team and organizational goals. You will define best practices for working with data in our warehouse and lakehouse, and collaborate with Data Engineering to ensure data quality and integrity for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Manage development of key dashboards and metrics within the company, including but not limited to reporting on AI performance and operational efficiencies and making these metrics actionable.
• Work with teams within the data vertical—such as the central data organization and satellite data teams—and outside of the data vertical—such as Product and Safety—to plan, build, and support business intelligence assets.
• Hire and develop business analysts to empower and enable the business to make data-driven decisions.
• Own the long-term roadmap of our business intelligence capabilities and technologies.

Requirements

• 3+ years in a leadership capacity and strong communication skills
• Advanced SQL and data warehousing experience, e.g., Redshift
• Experience with Looker, Tableau, or related BI tool
• Familiarity with data engineering / ETL tools, e.g., dbt
• A passion for data quality

Bonus Qualifications

• Python and other coding or scripting experience
• Exposure to web development

Compensation

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary will range from $193,000 to $243,000. A sign-on bonus may be part of a compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
