Work you'll do

  • Responsible for driving the strategy and design, and ensuring delivery of robotic and intelligent automation solutions; understanding our client's business challenges and integrating capabilities such as RPA, machine learning, NLP, and intelligent virtual assistants to create seamless solutions
  • Advise clients in assessing strategic options, making critical decisions, and implementing intelligent automation solutions in functional areas such as Finance & Accounting, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Information Technology, Contact Center, and Data Management with increasing demand for heart of the business functions like Engineering, Merchandizing, Pricing, and Sales
  • Serve as integrators between business needs and technology solutions, helping to create technology enabled solutions tailored to solve business challenges
  • Work with clients to develop strategy and governance for the broader organizational intelligent automation program and goals (e.g., establishment of COE, automation vision and program objectives, automation organizational structure, program scalability, automation value realization)
  • Collaborate with firm technical leaders to understand and bring to bear innovative AI and digital technologies to transform business processes
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize key areas of the business where ML, NLP and other intelligent automation and AI solutions can drive significant business benefit
  • Guide both client and Deloitte teams in identifying and prioritizing automation candidates and develop associated business cases for opportunities
  • Collaborate across the firm to bring advise, implement, and operate capabilities together to drive seamless services for clients
  • Prepare client engagement deliverables (e.g., business cases, CoE playbooks, intelligent automation prioritization and pipeline, implementation roadmap, test strategies and plans) to ensure quality of content and presentation aligned with statement of work and Deloitte standards
  • Coordinate with technical teams to identify and triage performance and operational issues that arise throughout the course of automation implementations
  • Advise clients to start and/or scale automation programs by sharing insights about automation trends in the marketplace including art of the possible using intelligent automation, 3rdparty vendor capabilities, scaling challenges, technology requirements, etc.
  • Partner with senior client leadership throughout the course of planning and implementation engagements, and serve as a liaison with the technical team and client team
  • Support Deloitte leadership with business development efforts, including account building, sales pursuits, and thought-ware development
  • Foster talent within the AI & DO team, building high performing teams and supporting development of staff within the practice
  • Act as a strong role model for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and allyship for team members

AI & Data Operations

The AI and Data Operations team leverages the power of data, analytics, robotics, science and cognitive technologies to uncover hidden relationships from vast troves of data, generate insights, and inform decision-making. Together with the Strategy practice, our Strategy & Analytics portfolio helps clients transform their business by architecting enterprise programs and differentiated strategies to win in their chosen markets.

The AI & Data Operations team works with our clients to:

  • Manage and operate large scale data platforms (cloud, on-prem, hybrid), automation and hyper automation capabilities and operate AI foundries to allow our clients to drive insights from the vast troves of data in their systems and ecosystems
  • Deploy hyper automation and cognitive and science-based techniques to manage data, predict scenarios and prescribe actions
  • Drive operational efficiency by maintaining their data ecosystems, sourcing analytics expertise and providing As-a-Service offerings for continuous insights and improvements

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 8+ years consulting/and or Insurance industry experience or an MBA with 6+ years relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated functional knowledge of RPA, including market-leading trends and platforms (e.g., Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, UiPath, and WorkFusion)
  • Demonstrated functional knowledge of intelligent automation market leading trends and technologies (e.g., AI, machine learning, NLP) and platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experienced in leading or managing teams and change initiatives (especially in a project management role)
  • Experience with budgetary responsibilities related to projects or resources
  • Experience with process mapping and process redesign activities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to travel up to 50% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of consulting experience on AI projects in the Insurance industry. 
  • Experience architecting, designing, developing and deploying enterprise solutions, based on client or business vision, which include components across the Artificial Intelligence spectrum such as Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning and Data Science
  • Experience in Hadoop, Spark, Storm or related paradigms and associated languages such as Pig, Hive, Mahout, plus advanced skills in Java/C++, R, Python, etc.
  • Experienced programming knowledge in both SAS and SQL, Operating system experience with UNIX and relational database knowledge such as ORACLE/TERADATA. SAS/Base, SAS/Stat, SAS/Macro preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following: machine learning, deep learning, time-series modeling, propensity and prediction, behavioral nudges, recommenders, anomaly detection, segmentation, AI architecture, AI interface design
  • Experience with quantitative modeling (design, development & implementation) using 3+ types of algorithm (e.g., Decision Trees, Naïve Bayes Classification, Ordinary Least Squares Regression, Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machines, Ensemble Methods, Clustering Algorithms, Principal Component Analysis, Singular Value Decomposition, Independent Component Analysis)
  • In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in a few select areas from across the AI spectrum
  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, electrical engineering, physics, or closely related field
  • Formal training in one or many of the following: signal processing, optimization, machine learning, linear algebra
  • Expertise in at least one functional application preferred (e.g., prediction models, behavioral analytics, etc.)
  • 2+ years’ experience working with Microsoft Cognitive Services, IBM Watson, IPSoft, Pega, Salesforce Einstein, Google Cloud Platform/Tensor Flow, or Amazon Web Services/Sagemaker, MS LUIS Chat, MS Azure Cognitive/ML
  • Expertise in 2+ domains preferred (e.g., Customer & Marketing, Finance, M&A, Operations, Pricing, Risk, Supply Chain, Workforce, etc.). Example of expertise includes:
    • Supply Chain: Knowledge of operations, manufacturing, quality or operations strategy for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device organizations
    • Payments: Experience with use cases such as fraud detection, cashierless stores, hyperpersonalized credit scores, enhanced customer service, etc.
    • Customer: Experience with use cases such as reduce customer churn, accurately price products / services, increase up-sell / cross-sell, reduce service Center call times, etc.
    • HR: Experience with use cases such as improve workforce / role matching, workforce optimization, increase learning effectiveness, align total rewards by employee type, etc.
    • IT: Experience with use cases such as optimize infrastructure use, optimize system / application performance, reduce IT security breaches, etc.
    • Risk: Experience with use cases such as improve safety/standards compliance, improve fraud detection, improve regulatory compliance
    • Operations: Experience with use cases such as eliminate underperforming SKUs, optimize fleet size and logistics, optimize inventory management
  • Strong experience running pursuits (US Practitioners)
  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a concise and actionable manner
  • Ability to work independently, manage small engagements or parts of large engagements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint) (US Practitioners)
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • An advanced degree in the area of specialization is preferred

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $138,000 to $255,000. 

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
