We have an exciting opportunity for a Summer Internship in the Project Control group within the Mechanical Engineering Department of GA-ASI located in Poway, CA.

The Project Control group delivers outstanding technical and business solutions to Engineering with a focus on quality, user experience, innovation, and continual improvement. We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive critical thinker to support the development of cross-functional internal software tools used for project planning, design controls, resource management, and the incorporation of data analytics to help empower leadership to make more informed management decisions. This internship is available for undergraduate or graduate students to participate in supervised practical training in a professional field.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Perform analysis on engineering project and resource planning data to develop tools, dashboards, and reports in support of Project Control activities for all Functional Engineering groups.
• Assist in improving the data pipeline using SQL Server, Python, and Power BI data flows/datasets.
• Advance the Project Control group’s automation and reporting capabilities by supporting the development of Functional Engineering analytics tools. This includes reports, metrics, and key performance indicators that can provide actionable insights on when projects are at risk of overrun, schedule slip, reducing scope, etc.
• Seek out opportunities for streamlining and improving user experience within current analytics tools.
• Help the Project Control group continue leading Functional Engineering toward fully embracing business intelligence and data-driven management decisions by incorporating machine learning and data analytics into our products and management process.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Typically requires enrollment as an undergraduate student at a recognized college or university.
• Must possess the ability to understand new concepts and apply them accurately.
• The ability to follow general and detailed instructions as well as organizational policies and procedures;
• Basic communication and interpersonal skills to enable effective interface with internal professionals.
• The ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills.

SALARY:$44,590-$66,295
