The GA-EMS Space Systems Division, specifically the Space Control and Special Capabilities Business in Boulder, Colorado has an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer/Engineer to become part of its Advanced Programs team. As part of this cross-disciplinary team, the Data Scientist will help deliver innovative solutions to national security problems that leverage the state-of-the-art in data science.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop concepts for improved computer vision models using artificial intelligence/machine learning, AI/ML
  • Work with/develop simulations to augment data for AI/ML, specifically in the context of Automatic Target Recognition (ATR).
  • Work directly with data sets of interest to explore different representations and model training techniques to enhance computer vision capabilities for various sensors, including EO/IR, Lidar, and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) systems.
  • Research existing and proposed approaches to address computer vision problems.
  • Interact directly with operational users.
  • Interact and collaborate frequently with company technical staff, as well as with partner organizations. This includes open discussions, documentation and presentation of proposed approaches, progress, issues, results.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree, Masters degree or PhD in scientific or related technical field and progressively complex scientific experience as follows; four or more years experience with a Bachelors degree and two or more years experience with a Masters degree. Equivalent scientific experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Experience creating computer vision models.
  • Experience or interest in machine learning, Neural Networks, and Deep Learning.
  • Experience with Python and Matlab as well as familiarity with high level languages like C++, and general command line/Linux competency.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development
  • Experience solving technical problems independently and as a team.
  • Only candidates with a current Top Secret/SCI security clearance will be considered.
  • Each job has a salary range which identifies the minimum, midpoint (market) and maximum base pay for the job. Pay rates are established based on the individual's knowledge, skill, experience and education/training needed to perform the job.

SALARY:$89,180 - $155,825
