Job Description

Seeking a Program Manager to support and help lead the development and delivery of transformative AI capabilities for aerial vehicles.

Primary role and responsibilities:

• Lead internally funded DoD-focused development programs related to Shield AI’s autonomy and AI products. 
• Program may consist of multiple interrelated projects
• Manage stakeholders
• Drive internal engineering efforts to attain budget, schedule, and scope requirements
• Craft and lead Program Management Reviews
• Expertly manage integrated project team meetings
• Generate program documents and drive excellence in execution
• Manage, track, and report progress on milestone and deliverables schedules
• Generate and maintain project schedules
• Engage with engineers on the design process, including sprint planning 
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers
• Develop objectives and key messages for meetings
• Generate Project Plans
• Manage program budgets
• Schedule and manage recurring team meetings

Required qualifications:

• Experience as a Project Manager driving development of sophisticated software and AI systems
• Solid technical foundations in commercial software development and experience with both agile and waterfall methodologies. 
• Ability to run multiple projects
• Ability to focus on long-term business objectives
• S. in Computer Science or a related field with 7+ years of work experience; alternative degrees are acceptable if professional experience is focused in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, or Computer Science. 
• Ability to run advanced projects/programs consisting of multiple interrelated projects, in a manner that is largely self-directed
• Experience with scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.
• Significant experience and excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent skills in leadership, time management, organization, team management
• Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal and written ability
• Expert understanding of complex project financials
• You have a demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience managing integrated software and hardware research and development programs, software releases and/or a software product 
• Experience in both waterfall and agile project processes
• Software engineering background 
• AI/Machine Learning familiarity
