Job Description

We are looking for a data scientist with domain knowledge in healthcare to join our AI Computational Biology team. Our team includes computational biologists, computer scientists, and engineers working together to enhance and demonstrate the value of clinico-genomics data for precision medicine. In this contract position, you will work closely with an external partner to generate insights from clinical data to benefit patients and bring a better understanding of their disease.

What you’ll do:

• Responsible for the analysis of structured medical records to answer client inquiries regarding a cohort of blood cancer patients
• Work with clinical scientists internally and externally to define questions of interest and map approaches to answer them
• Query a database of structured patient medical records to describe variables and interactions between them
• Develop and apply statistical models to identify associations between concepts such as treatment trajectories and healthcare outcomes, understand causal relationships, and predict clinical variables
• Cooperate with other members of the AI Computational Biology team to generalize solutions, so that can be applied to similar problems in other clinical areas
• Prepare reports, slide decks, presentations and present to clients

What you bring:

• Master’s or equivalent experience in biostatistics, computational biology, computer science, or in a related field
• Strength in core statistical principles and methods such as data imputation, hypothesis testing, and regression modeling, and experience with prediction modeling 
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Expert in Python 3 and numerical libraries (e.g. numpy, scipy, pytorch, tensorflow) and data visualization
• Experience working in a production development environment using version control
• Excellent documentation practices, and presentation skills to non-technical audiences

Preferred skills:

• Prior experience working with electronic medical records and familiarity with clinical data standards (ICD9/10, SNOMED, LOINC, FHIR, etc.) 
• Oncology experience preferred, hematological malignancies a plus. 
• Experience in Real World Evidence
