Job Description

Direct Assurance is acquiring a new data platform in the Cloud centralizing the provision of data and the working environment for data analysts, data scientists and actuaries throughout the company.

As part of its data and innovation strategy, Direct Assurance is also developing Big Data and Data Science tools to optimize its processes and respond to business issues through data-based approaches. Direct Assurance is accelerating its data initiatives by strengthening the analytics teams in the business departments, as well as the cross-functional Big Data team.

Your Assignments

In close collaboration with the Chief Data Officer (responsible for cross-functional data teams) and supported by a junior data scientist, you will play the role of technical referent on data science subjects within the Big Data team, with the following missions:

Deliver data science projects in support of business departments:

  • Support data scientists within the business departments in carrying out the projects included in the roadmap, in the design, development and validation phases, by discussing the choices made, reviewing the codes developed and analyzing the results obtained
  • Anticipate IT impacts and secure the production launch of models developed in conjunction with the Big Data Engineering team
  • Independently launch and implement new projects, linked to business priorities
  • Support the business departments in the use of the new Data platform
  • Support and training of users on this new platform
  • Follow-up of the business usecase migration schedule
  • In conjunction with the Big Data Engineering team, identify missing tools or new levers that would facilitate the development and production of data science use cases
  • Define and share best practices
  • Formalize and document good practices in mathematical modeling and IT development and share them with the various teams
  • Ensure the quality of delivery by implementing best practices in the different teams
  • Promote collaboration between departments through the animation of the data science community
  • Propose and organize recurring and one-off, formal and informal events around data science
  • Carry out a technological watch aimed at maintaining an openness to the external ecosystem
  • Contribute to the identification of potential projects and the definition of the data roadmap

Your profile

Required profile

  • We are looking for a leader and a team player, curious, rigorous, pragmatic, adaptable, autonomous, with good interpersonal skills, a sense of listening and team spirit.
  • With a bac +5 training in statistics, mathematics (or similar field), you benefit from 5 years of experience as a data scientist. A complementary role of data science project manager is a plus.
  • You master machine learning techniques and have significant programming experience (Python, R, Spark, SQL, Scala). You are familiar with Big Data ecosystems with Spark, knowledge of Azure and Databricks is a plus.
  • You are recognized for your ability to understand business needs and to propose pragmatic solutions to solve them, anticipating IT impacts.
  • You are recognized for your ability to get teams on board and are able to manage cross-functional projects.
  • Given the international environment, an operational level of English is essential.
  • The position is based in Suresnes (92) and occasional trips abroad are to be expected.
