Job Description

Overview:

• This role will operate on a hybrid schedule (2-3 days per week on-site in Mountain View, CA). However, it is currently remote until a RTO plan is implemented.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer. No sponsorship is available for this position.

Description:

We are currently looking for a GCP (Google Cloud Platform) Engineer to join our team supporting the Enterprise Managed Cloud Computing (EMCC) Group in Mountain View, CA. This role will provide cloud service technical integration and support across US centers to facilitate agency cloud usage and adoption. Tasks will include solutions-based engineering and optimization/automation of cloud tasks and procedures, customer support, administration of Managed Cloud Environments (MCEs), workflow and tools development, cloud architecture, and cloud service administration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Build, manage, and maintain large-scale enterprise cloud environments (GCP, but AWS and Azure are a plus.).
• Possessing a strong DevOps mentality, create tools, automation scripts, and help develop optimized processes.
• Create and document cloud role policies.
• Interface with customers to provide rapid deployment of cloud services.
• Provide subject matter expertise of Google Cloud Platform infrastructure and services.
• Engineer cloud solutions conforming to the government systems development lifecycle standards.
• Install, configure, deploy, and maintain cloud-based servers and services running various operating systems in an enterprise environment.
• Create tools, scripts, and automation with Python, Ruby, Perl, or Bash.
• Present proposed solutions to Contract Task Management and Civil Servant customers.
• Engineer cloud configurations to implement security controls aligned with the NIST 800-53 risk management framework.

Skill Requirements/Qualifications:

• Experience operating large-scale enterprise cloud environments as a member of a technical team.
• Strong technical knowledge of Google Cloud Platform infrastructure and services.
• Experience installing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based servers and services running various operating systems in an enterprise environment.
• Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure experience is a plus.
• Cloud networking experience is a plus.
• Automation, CI/CD, IaC, and Orchestration tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Jenkins, etc.) is a plus.
• Agile / Solutions oriented individual.
• Security experience, NIST 800-53, or compliance auditing is a plus.
• 2-4 years of directly related experience minimum.
• 6-10 years of total field experience minimum.
• Proficient in creating tools, scripts, and automation with one or more of the following: Python, Ruby, Perl or Bash.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time to other US-based centers.
