The Cloud Data Architect possesses 3+ years of experience designing and developing using the Azure PaaS components and 10+ years in the Data Integration, Data Warehousing, and BI space. This position is responsible for the development of data solutions utilizing both traditional RDBMS and Big Data, on Cloud platforms. The candidate must be well versed in multiple cloud platforms and be a motivated technologist with a proven track record of delivering results in software/technology consulting.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical thought leadership to support customer goals
• Ability to conduct workshops with business team and able to build the vision and data strategy roadmap
• Able to understand various data domains and identify the data gaps in analytics. Construction industry/Project Analytics is preferred.
• Technical team leadership of distributed development teams in delivering data solutions
• Conduct research and provide detailed recommendations with roadmaps and delivery plans
• Help build proof of concepts (POCs) to actively demonstrate solution hypothesis with tangible work products
• Design and implement cloud-based solutions (Azure is preferred)
• Azure environment configuration, performance tuning, and driving adoption of DataOps principal Minimal

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of proven experience in designing and delivering data solutions from the ground up
• At least 3 years of experience leveraging infrastructure as code, on a cloud platform, in addition to primary data expertise
• At least 3 years of experience in Cloud-based transformation solutions
• At least 5 years of experience in working with software development tools and methodologies
• Excellent communications skills - At least 2 years of experience in presentation skills with a high degree of comfort in speaking with executives, IT management, and developers
• At least 3 years of experience in software/technology customer facing role
• Azure certification a plus
• Degree in a technical discipline, such as Computer Science or Math
• 10+ years of total IT experience Recommended Expertise (Top 3 skills)
• Well versed and hands on expertise in implementing Azure components such as: o Azure Data Lake Store o Azure DW (Synapse) o Azure Analysis Services o Azure Data Factory pipelines o Azure SQL modeling and performance tuning techniques o PowerBI / PowerBI Premium
• Extensive experience in Data Warehousing and Dimensional Data Modeling Nice to Have
• Experience in implementing big data solutions – Azure HD Insight
• Azure Databricks data pipelines
• Experience in traditional ETL tools such as Informatica, SSIS
• Snowflake experience
