Legal, Compliance, and Governance (LCG) Technology leverages data from across the firm and outside data providers to power applications and data analytics solutions for the Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management functions across the firm.

Position Description

As a Data Architect within the Governance, Risk, and Compliance Technology department you will be responsible for the management of data that is sourced into shared data platforms that are used across Operational Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit and Technology Risk functions within the firm. This includes analysis of requested data feeds and datasets, the rationalization of the data (future and current) that we source and store, the efficient modeling of data as per business and analytics requirements, and the implementation of data validation / data quality controls. You will also be responsible for contributing towards the development and execution of our Data Management strategy, which is largely focused on the migration to and the usage of cloud-based technologies. Lastly, you will be leading a global team of ETL developers, data analysts, and analytics developers.?

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing effective data models and structures that meet our user requirements and analytics needs
  • Analyzing our current data stores and determining how to efficiently store data through consolidation, de-duplication, and other data management techniques
  • Working closely with our data providers as we source data and maintaining relationships with them throughout the data lifecycle
  • Leading a mixed team of ETL Developers, Data Analytics Developers, and Data Analysts to accurately analyze user requirements, to profile incoming data, to source / ingest data, to develop queries, reports, dashboards, and other visualizations, and to document relevant metadata within our data catalog and system dictionary
  • Helping ensure that the LCG usage of data adheres to our Firmwide Data Policy, and that proper governance is enforced

Qualifications

Skills Required:

  • 10-15 years of Data Architecture / Data Warehousing experience
  • 10+ years of experience producing data models to support OLTP and OLAP platforms
  • Experience with common ETL / ELT tools (i.e. Informatica, Talend, etc)
  • Experience with various data source types (RDBMS, XML, JSON, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of dashboarding and reporting tools like Tableau and Cognos
  • Experience with Data Cataloging tools and concepts (e.g. Collibra, Alation, etc.)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Skills Desired:

  • Experience with Cloud based platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks
  • Experience with Data Federation or Virtualization technologies
  • Experience with common Data Science and Data Analytics use-cases and platforms
  • Experience with Semantic and Graph data
