Enterprise Technology & Services (ETS) delivers shared technology services for the Firm supporting all business applications and end users. ETS provides capabilities for all stages of the Firm’s software development lifecycle, enabling productive coding, functional and integration testing, application releases, and ongoing monitoring and support for over 3,000 production applications.

ETS also delivers all workplace technologies (desktop, mobile, voice, video, productivity, intranet/internet) in integrated configurations that boost the personal productivity of our employees. Position Description:

Morgan Stanley is looking for a collaborative, highly quantitative and results-oriented data analyst to dive deep into our Agile & DevOps data, seek out actionable insights, and create informative data reports and visualizations.

We are responsible for measuring & tracking the progress of the Firm’s Agile & DevOps Transformation. Because every decision we make is backed by data, we require a passionate data analyst to properly leverage our huge stores of information and answers business question with insights backed by data. You will analyze data and drive implementation of KPIs, reports & dashboards for users at all levels, from senior management down to individual developers.

What You'll Do:

  • Defining and tracking agile teams’ metrics and goals and build insightful quantitative materials to identify trends and deliver critical insights.
  • Collaborates closely with Agile senior management to answer questions by data driven analysis and present findings to non-technical audience in a detailed way utilizing data visualizations and reports.
  • Analyze business problems to find opportunities and effectively influence decisions.
  • Analyze structured datasets and work with data pipeline engineering team for productionizing new analytics for reporting and dashboards.

QUALIFICATIONS

About You:

  • 1+ years of experience working with and analyzing large datasets
  • You hold a degree or certification in a quantitative field
  • Advanced understanding of SQL. Experience with data analysis toolkits in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib/Seaborn, Scikit-learn) or equivalent (R)
  • Experience in data visualizing and creating data-driven reports and presentations.
  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Passion for diving into the nitty-gritty of data and using it to meet and exceed business goals. Whenever someone asks “Why?” you can't help but run to the data to get an answer
  • Strong communication skills to be able to influence others with the story of what you’re seeing in the data
  • Strong technical writing skills to write about and present analysis results in a clear and easy to understand manner to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable working closely with both engineering and management
  • You love working with diverse teams and personalities
