WEALTH MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY

Wealth Management Technology is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Business. Practice areas include: Analytics, Intelligence, & Data Technology (AIDT), Client Platforms, Core Technology Services (CTS), Financial Advisor Platforms, Global Banking Technology (GBT), Investment Solutions Technology (IST), Institutional Wealth and Corporate Solutions Technology (IWCST), Technology Delivery Management (TDM), User Experience (UX), and the CAO team.

The Data Scientist will work alongside technology managers and data engineers to develop models and analytics for Finance, Risks and Operations.

Job profile

Be Data Curious - Analyze large, complex data sets to produce compelling insights and identify trends and patterns.

Use cutting-edge machine learning and statistical techniques?to research and develop various models to detect risks (margin, credit, operational, etc.) across the firm and drive innovation in the Margin and Securities Lending space

Collaborate with stakeholders to establish project objectives and refine requirements

Maintain strong client focus by building strong relationships with risks and operations stakeholders and identify opportunities to utilize data science solutions in the Middle Office platforms

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

  • Degree in quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Operations Research, or another related field)
  • Strong skills in Python and experience using SQL to create complex queries for extracting and analyzing data
  • Problem-solving skills and a good understanding of statistics and new machine learning techniques.
  • Hands-on experience developing machine learning and risk calculation models
  • Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders across teams and ability to thrive in a fast paced, multiple deliverable, team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of business intelligence products such as SAP Hana, Apache Spark and cloud computing platforms would be an advantage
