Division: Institutional Securities Technology (IST)

Institutional Securities Technology (IST) is part of Technology. This group is responsible for developing enterprise applications for a diverse set of businesses including Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, and Global Capital Markets. In addition, IST provides technology solutions for client-aligned groups and company-wide divisions, such as Finance and Operations, post-trade functions within the Institutional Securities Group and standardized data and enterprise-wide services to provide leverage to the Firm's businesses.

Department: IBD & GCM Technology (IBGCMT)

IBD & GCM Technology, a part of the wider IST Division, focuses on supporting the complex and evolving needs of two of the firm's most prestigious and market leading businesses, Investment Banking & Global Capital Markets. Our group partners closely with stakeholders at all levels within the business to provide a wide variety of technology solutions, including the management of highly sensitive data, content creation, real time electronic trading and data modeling. Our group prides itself on the strength and diversity of our technologists that enable us to deliver front to back solutions to our business.

Role

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who can design, plan, and execute on projects to meet specific client needs. You will apply strategic, analytical and data science skills to broad range of challenges faced by our business users in Investment Banking & Global Capital Markets. This position offers the opportunity to work as part of a global delivery team with visibility to senior technology management and business stakeholders at all levels. The successful candidate will be a team player and is likely to have experience in data analysis and analytics development, a strong technical background and excellent communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, financial engineering, statistics, or econometrics
  • 3+ years of industry experience in business analytics roles (e.g. digital analytics, risk analytics, business insights)
  • Experience across broad range of modern data science and analytics tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Spark)
  • Basic knowledge in modern data mining, quantitative research, and data science techniques
  • Understanding of fundamental analysis and financial modeling, including practical experience of using Excel for building and maintaining financial models
  • Prior experience in financial services within a ?front office? role (such as M&A, ECM, DCM, or Equity Research) is a plus
  • Ability to work as a self-directed contributor with a proven track record of being detail orientated, innovative, creative, and strategic
  • Excellent communicator able to convey complex information in an understandable, compelling, and persuasive manner to business and technology partners
  • Ability to define analytical agenda for projects, demonstrates ability to frame ambiguous business questions into analytical plans (e.g., assessing data needs, sourcing files, preparing data, creating new features, evaluating quality, etc.), and executes with precision
