Job Description:
The Analytics & Data Organization is part of Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Management Division. The organization’s responsibility is to support Wealth Management’s strategic objectives through the use and exploitation of its data and analytical assets. Key focus areas will be in support of organic growth through the digitization and delivery of investment advice; partnering with each business area by providing them the tools, expertise, and support for them to understand and analyze their own data; and to make data and analytics a differentiated capability for the firm.
Morgan Stanley is currently searching for VP, Model Oversight, Data Science. This role will directly report to the Executive Director, Data Science in Analytics, Modeling and Data (AMD) organization. The person will play critical role in identifying model risk, drive standardization and collaborate with 2nd line of defense. This person will lead designing model governance process and control for end-to-end model life cycle for entire portfolio of wealth management models covering sales, marketing, media, and field management. This person will work with data scientists who are working on AI/ML modeling use case and provide thought leadership for continuous model governance enhancements and innovation. This person will lead executive communication to support key business initiatives from modeling perspective.
This person will regularly collaborate with model risk, compliance, legal and other business stakeholders. This person will work with model risk to ensure collaboration on model planning, and adhere to high standards of validation, and monitoring. This person will partner with legal and compliance to ensure adherence to policies and lead required testing such as fairness/bias.
As a lead for managing model oversight for the enterprise, this person must have deep expertise in supervised and unsupervised machine learning, modeling, and algorithms with a strong focus on communicating use-cases and solutions to business partners. The person must have ability to learn at rapid pace, develop strong business acumen with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across first and second line across the enterprise. This person must have deep experience of working in model oversight function and managed model validation process.
