SAIC is seeking a detailed-oriented professional for a Data Modeler position. Applicable candidates may have skill sets including those with Finance backgrounds, Program Cost Control Analysts, Strategic Pricing, and Statistics, or those interested in becoming a Data Scientist. This position offers intermediate level candidates the opportunity for eventual transition into Data Science.

  • The qualified candidate will be a part of a small, agile team supporting document analysis through the development and maintenance of data models for a customer in the US Intelligence Community. 
  • The qualified candidate is a problem solver able to organize large volumes of data using Excel in a cogent and useful manner, with precise attention to detail. 
  • The qualified candidate will work with domain knowledge experts to determine and apply selectors querying large data set. 
  • Training is available for obtaining advanced Excel skill, SQL, Python, and the unique Sponsor databases.

Qualifications

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, data science, engineering, statistics, or a related subject. OR 4 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Requires minimum of 1 year demonstrated experience with developing statistical models to include confident intervals and hypothesis testing
  • Requires minimum of 1 year of experience using Excel, specifically pivot tables, writing macros, and graphing
  • Requires minimum of 4 years of experience in applied quantitative analysis and data science, including bulk data analytics
  • Must have experience using statistical analysis software applications
  • Must have experience with application of data science and analytic methodologies
  • Must have experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, Pivotal Chorus, MADLib products, or graphs generated with R
  • Requires minimum 1 year of experience using and creating SQL to include creating/querying tables, joining tables, and extracting data across multiple data sets
  • Must have experience in R, Python, or similar language, specifically writing original code not running previously generated code.
  • Must be creative problem solver and critical thinking skills
  • Must be high initiative, creativity, persistence, and ownership of work and a strong focus on producing tangible results
