Job Description

The Enterprise AI/ML Technical Architect will combine expertise in technology design methods across modern applications, data science, and advanced analytics technical architectures including AI/ML. This individual will have a good grasp of technical design principles and support the development of enterprise design patterns, artifacts, and repositories. This individual will possess cross-functional architecture expertise and the ability to lead and participate in the creation of technical solution architecture designs. This is a Senior Architect-level position within ADM’s Enterprise Architecture team, with a dotted line reporting relationship to ADM’s Digital team. It is above all a technical architecture position, not a data science development role. It requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with IT and business leadership, as well the ability to work with detail-level IT experts and architects.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the definition of AI/ML and advanced analytics technical architecture roadmaps, standards, and reference patterns
• Lead or support cross-functional solution design efforts involving applications, AI/ML platforms, data and analytics, networks, and security
• Take accountability for solution requirement definitions, conceptual, and high- and low-level design artifact generation
• Support design reviews
• Lead reviews of solutions to audit against design requirements
• Help maintain a roadmap of AI/ML and advanced analytics technical architecture services
• Develop expertise in areas of technical need (e.g., for emerging technologies in AI/ML)
• Support AI/ML and advanced analytics team mvp exercices
• Support AI/ML and advanced analytics technical solution design efforts
• Help develop cross-functional technical services in support of , including DevOps pipelines, test automation, infrastructure as code, digital-self-service
• Help develop ops with ADM’s Data Science teams
• Support vendor reviews, including vetting AI/ML vendors and SaaS vendors
• Manage adherence to defined architecture standards throughout the AI/ML development lifecycle
• Provide oversight and coaching to developers as part of the Architecture Services Organization
• Provide subject matter expertise to design, develop, and implement complex architecture in alignment with Enterprise Architecture’s direction and standards
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and utilize this knowledge to educate both IT and the business on opportunities to build better target architectures that support and drive business decisions
• Support IT Enterprise governance functions (RFI’s, vendor risk assessments, etc…)

Job Requirements

• 6+ years of IT experience
• 3+ years of AI/ML experience, including experience on at least two of the following three technologies: Azure Machine Learning, Spark/Synapse, Artificial Intelligence
• 2+ years of experience working in TOGAF or other formal architecture framework
• 3+ years of IT technical design experience overall (either exclusively or across applications, data, AI/ML infrastructure, networks, or security)
• 2+ Years of ML Ops
• 2+ Years of working in Big Data or other large distributed systems
• 2+ Years of model development
• 2+ Years of solution technical design involving Microsoft Azure, including both high-level solution design, and detailed technical design
• 1 “associate” level certification in Azure among the following: AI Engineering, Data Scientist, Security Architect, Data Architect, Application Architect, Analytics Architect
• Azure Solution Architect certification preferred
• Ability to generate high and low level solution design artifacts involving AI/ML
• Experience conducting design reviews and architecture reviews involving AI/ML
• Understanding of AI/ML network architecture at scale
• Understanding of AI/ML security architecture, identity management, and governance
• Knowledge of AI/ML data platforms and services
• Broad understanding of modern integration architectures
• Solid understanding of and ability to describe modern AI/ML architecture design patterns
• Solid understanding of modern data and analytics design patterns
• Solid grasp of IT governance and controls
• Experience in software development with a variety of languages (such as “R,” JavaScript, React, Python), and experience with Source Code Management tools such as Git
• Containerization experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure as a service (IaaS) / platform as a service (PaaS)
• Experience architecting solutions using modern application design patterns including microservices, event-driven, and RESTful architectures.
• Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) tools for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Software deployments.
• Experience with Java Scripting
• Knowledge of Microsoft development platforms
• Knowledge of Microsoft Data and Analytics platforms
• Knowledge of automation platforms
• Knowledge of serverless platforms
• Strong interpersonal collaboration skills and ability to work across technology domains
