Position Summary:

ADM is seeking a Data Modeler to partner with Solution Leads and Global Process Owners to understand comprehensive business processes, strategies, standards, and source systems in order to develop master data solutions seeking to create and improve our Golden Record. Working with a team of systems analysts, process analysts, and developers, our data modelers are at the heart of all we build.

Job Description

The data modeler designs, implements, and documents data architecture and data modeling solutions, which include the use of relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases. These solutions support enterprise information management, master data management, business intelligence, machine learning, data science, and other business interests.

Job Responsibilities:

• Brilliantly build logical and physical data models to support master data in both SAP and Informatica
• Implement business and IT data requirements through new data strategies and designs across all data platforms (relational, dimensional, and NoSQL) Work with solution teams and Data Architects to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop logical/physical data models
• Work with Data Architects to build models that conform to data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models.
• Hands-on modeling, design, configuration, installation, performance tuning, and sandbox POC
• Work proactively and independently to address project requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce project delivery risks
• Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts, when the models do not already exist
• Maintain logical and physical data models, cataloging that metadata in Information Steward and ER Studio
• Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies
• Provide regular and accurate status updates and other documentation to management and team members for assigned project, support, and improvement work

Required Skills:

• Communicates clearly, ideas and findings with team members using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Ability to optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects
• Ability to analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions
• Confidence to guide System Analysts, Engineers, Programmers, and others on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
• Seeks to improve efficiency and performance of existing data models

Desired Skills:

• Experience with data warehouse, Data Lake, and/or enterprise big data platforms in multi-data-center or cloud environment
• Understand agile delivery methodology and experience working in a scrum environment

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree related to Information Systems, Computer Science or another relevant academic subject area with a minimum of 3 years job experience

Required Experience:

• 2+ years providing metadata management and data modeling
• 2+ years working with Erwin, ER Studio, or similar tool
• 5+ years of hands-on relational, dimensional, and/or analytic experience (using RDBMS, dimensional, NoSQL data platform technologies, and ETL and data ingestion protocols)
