Job Description

LinQuest is seeking a full-time Senior Operations Researcher or Research Scientist to join our team in Beavercreek, OH. This position is responsible for leading a study team of government and contract experts and analysts in researching and analyzing complex problems and discovering insights utilizing a scenario-based analysis of military utility in support of Air Force acquisition decisions. The study team lead is expected to manage projects and oversee teams consisting of, analysts, subject matter experts, modelers, programmers, and other functions as required.

Primary responsibilities include providing leadership and advanced expertise in operational analysis, military utility, and mission impact. The study lead will report directly to the sponsoring government agency and collaborate with other Government led research teams.

The Senior Research Scientist will lead the analysis of operational activities of military, federal governmental, and/or commercial systems to obtain a rational basis for decision-making through the application of qualitative and quantitative analyses and participate in planning, scheduling, and coordinating selected analytical process phases.

The Study Team Lead will:

• Lead and / or participate with teams in analysis of customer problems
• Oversee and at times execute analytical experiments to help solve various complex problems and make a true impact across various domains and industries
• Provide overall direction for the successful accomplishment of study outcomes
• Assist customers in developing and clarifying requirements
• Provide strategic analytical guidance
• Develop analysis plans
• Research state-of-the-art analytical approaches and innovative statistical models
• Identify relevant data sources and concepts for inclusion within the scenario-based analysis
• Establish measures of merit and evaluate concepts IAW those measures to assess military utility, technical feasibility, operational constructs, and other associated attributes
• Clearly document and present methodology, assumptions, and findings to stakeholders in the form of technical reports and briefings

Required Skills and Experience:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Information Systems, Statistics, Applied Math, or related technical field
• 10+ years’ experience
• Demonstrated experience conducting research studies and analyses
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills
• An active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance is required

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Familiarity or previous experience working with the Department of Defense
• Experience leading teams of 3 – 15 members
• Joint military experience either operationally or in performing military utility analysis
• Applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
• Experience presenting study conclusions/recommendations to senior AF/DoD officials
• Top Secret security clearance
