Job Description

LinQuest is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team. The position can be remote but candidates near Dayton, OH, are preferred. US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance is required.

The Data Scientist that will join a team in discovering insights hidden in vast amounts of data and help us drive smarter decisions. The primary focus will be on exploring data for business opportunities, preparing data for analysis, applying data mining and statistical techniques, and creating high impact analytic solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute analytical experiments methodically to help solve various problems and make a true impact across various domains and industries
  • Research state-of-the-art data mining methods and innovative statistical models
  • Identify relevant data sources and sets to mine for client business needs, and collect large structured and unstructured datasets and variables
  • Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Develop code for predictive/prescriptive models with applied machine learning and other modeling techniques
  • Clearly document and present methodology, assumptions, and findings to stakeholders

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Applied Math, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience
  • Good scripting and programming skills
  • Experience with at least one of the common data science tools, such as R, Python, Keras, etc.
  • Experience with data pipelining and building data models
  • Experience with NLP (natural language processing)
  • Familiarity with ML/AI concepts
  • Great communication and collaboration skills
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance is required.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience
  • Solid understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Decision Forests, Neural Networks etc.
  • Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
  • Data-oriented personality with proficiency in using data query languages such as SQL and ability to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as GGplot, etc.
  • Experience with OCR
