Battery Data Engineer

Job Summary:

Our client in Tustin, CA is looking for a Battery Data Engineer. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

• Design and build internal data analytics tools for high voltage battery testing data to enable generation of battery health insights.
• Craft automated analysis scripts in Python to extract key performance indicators from standardized battery test data
• Integrate analysis scripts with AWS Lambda and S3.
• Generate interactive plots and data visualization in Python using standard libraries, including matplotlib, Seaborn, and Bokeh.
• Understand test standards, battery design, test setup, and key performance indicators.
• Build out documentation in Confluence to enable other engineers to perform customized analyses.
• Version control analysis scripts and reports.

What You Will Need:

Basics:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or similar plus significant experience in modeling lithium-ion batteries (industry or academia).
• Must have programming experience in preferably Python, or R (but with application to statistics and data analytics)
• Experience with statistical analysis, machine learning, data visualization.
• Experience with databases (MySQL, NoSQL, or both).
• Familiarity with Git, Jupyter, Bitbucket, AWS Lambda, and Tableau.
• Strong communication skills.

Preferred:

• Master's degree or higher in Chemistry, Engineering, Physics or similar with significant experience in applying statistics and data analytics is a plus.
• Experience with AWS ML, AWS Big Data a plus.
• Experience with Big Data Processing is a plus.
• Working knowledge of requirements tools such as Jama, change control tools such as Jira, and documentation tools such as Confluence, is preferred.
