Job Description

The data analysis and artificial intelligence platform Altair Rapidminer integrates machine learning and AI solutions that allow for quick access to low-latency granular data containing the information you're trying to discover. Providing transparency and automation with features such as AutoML and explainable AI, we streamline model creation to dedicate more time to analysis for reliable results. Our code-free, flexible approach doesn't restrict the way you configure and fine-tune models, allowing you to have control over their development.

We are looking for an intern for a duration of 6 months who will join our technical team in France. The goal of this internship is to explore and propose solutions based on data analysis and machine learning for various types of issues and sectors. The intern will work with technical, sales and marketing teams to contribute to the increase of new market penetration through the using of Best-in-class Data Analytics tools.

What You Will Do: 

The purpose of this internship is to build a database of examples of AI applications for solving what are known as cross-functional and non-CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) problems. Among these issues, we can find:

• Customer base segmentations
• Sales or demand forecasting
• Fraud detection
• Price optimization/inventory management

A literature review of the most representative approaches to solving these problems will be necessary to establish the best demonstrator for each case. This research will use both internal resources, such as the RapidMiner academy, and external sources. A set of public and representative data will be required for each application. These data will be either obtained from public websites (e.g., Kaggle) or created. 

Next, the standard data analysis approach will be developed for each case:

• Data Discovery
• Data Cleaning
• Selection of the Most Appropriate Model
• Model Training and Deployment

Videos, presentations, and trainings will be created for each case to facilitate easy onboarding. You will be asked to study the capabilities of the tools available in the latest versions of Altair's tools and stay updated on developments to determine future advancements. The success of this internship will depend on the intern's ability to communicate between:

• The data analysis-oriented technical field team
• The global Altair RapidMiner technical team
• Sales and Marketing
• The expectations for this internship are as follows:
• Establish an industry-specific application catalogue, including:
• Realistic (public) data sets
• Application demonstrator
• Data preparation
• Model building
• Data visualization (static or real-time)
• Videos and presentations

For this, the intern will be trained in the tools Monarch, Panopticon, and RapidMiner. At the end of this internship, you will have acquired strong skills in solving data analysis and business intelligence-oriented AI problems.

What You Will Need:

Basics: 

• You are independent, proactive, and meticulous.
• You are in the final year of a Master's program or in the last year of an engineering, data science, or business school program, and you are looking for an end-of-studies internship.
• You have knowledge of data science.
• You have a good understanding of data-related issues.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• You are highly curious.
• You have good teamwork and leadership abilities.
• You are independent, proactive, and meticulous.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of the retail industry.
• Proficiency in programming and automation (TCL, Python, etc.).
• Familiarity with digital data analysis tools (Dataiku, Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx).
