We Are Hiring: Founding Full-Stack Data Visualization Engineer

Perplexity is transforming the way people search the internet, and we are seeking a founding engineer to revolutionize how our employees search through internal data.

Our team behind Deep Research and other cutting-edge AI features is looking for a passionate engineer who specializes in tooling and data visualization. As the first Full-Stack Data Visualization Engineer, you will collaborate with AI engineers to redefine debugging and visualization tools, enhancing our AI development. If you enjoy working on greenfield projects and taking full ownership of your work, this role is for you.

Tech Stack: Next.js | TypeScript | Python | Postgres | Docker | AWS

Responsibilities

• Develop new 0-1 full-stack visualization tools for debugging and evaluation.
• Design intuitive front-end interfaces and robust back-end systems for monitoring AI system performance.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to understand their needs and deliver effective full-stack solutions.
• Continuously improve existing tools and develop new features to meet evolving requirements.
• Work closely with Engineers, Product, Design, and Data teams to provide deep insights into Perplexity’s performance.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in full-stack software development, particularly in building scientific or infrastructure visualization tools.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
• Strong quantitative understanding of data and visualization.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• 6+ years of industry experience.

Bonus

• Prior experience leading a team of 4+ engineers, as this 0-1 project could quickly scale into a full team.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $200,000 - $270,000 (final offer depends on experience and expertise).

Equity: Equity is included as part of the total compensation package.
