We Are Hiring: Applied AI & ML Engineer – Personalization

Perplexity is seeking experienced Applied AI & ML Engineers to build the next generation of personalization experiences. In this role, you'll focus on enhancing user satisfaction by delivering highly relevant, personalized, and inspiring content.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build the next-generation personalization platform and models to shape a highly customized Perplexity user journey.
• Develop effective data and models for LLM content and transform them into personalized ML signals that drive customized recommendations.
• Work across the stack to deliver various types of models (LLM to DNN) to end users in a scalable and high-performance manner.
• Collaborate with product managers and partner teams to ensure fast and high-quality deliverables for end users.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills with the ability to work across the stack in a typical recommendation system or LLM stack.
• Experience in training Deep Neural Networks (DNN) and Transformer architecture models.
• Hands-on experience working with LLM APIs for tasks such as fine-tuning, prompt mining, or prototyping new ideas.
• Ability to make trade-offs in selecting and implementing different models.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
• Passion for shipping high-quality products.
• 4+ years of industry experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $200,000 - $280,000 (final offer depends on experience and expertise).

Equity: Equity is included as part of the total compensation package.
