We Are Hiring: Software Engineer – AI Discovery

Perplexity is seeking Software Engineers to help build the next generation of AI discovery experiences. In this role, you'll integrate curated and LLM-generated content, developing discovery product solutions from infrastructure to ML to enhance user engagement.

Responsibilities

• Develop various user and content signals to improve content recommendations.
• Build query understanding models to support multiple verticals, including shopping, sports, finance, and more.
• Work flexibly across the recommendation system stack to deliver models and content to users in a scalable and high-performance manner.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to ensure fast and high-quality deliverables for end users.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills with the ability to work across the stack in a typical recommendation system or LLM stack.
• Experience in training and deploying Deep Neural Networks (DNN) and Transformer-based models.
• Hands-on experience working with LLM APIs for tasks such as fine-tuning, prompt mining, or prototyping new ideas.
• Ability to make trade-offs when selecting and implementing different models.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership.
• Passion for shipping high-quality products.
• 4+ years of industry experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $200,000 - $280,000 (final offer depends on experience and expertise).

Equity: Equity is included as part of the total compensation package.
