About the team

The Capital Markets AI/ML CoE team is a horizontal CoE for Capital Markets that is helping us drive revenue and bring significant savings to our businesses by identifying, exploring, and implementing AI/ML solutions.

The Capital Markets is one of the two verticals in FIS. It has various products and solutions in funds management, cleared derivatives, commercial lending, corporate treasury, insurance risk electronic trading, RegTech, wealth and retirement etc.

The team consists of highly motivated solution architects, data scientists and ML engineers.

What you will be doing

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be working designing and developing cutting-edge AI/ML solutions across the organization.

 What you bring:

Knowledge / Experience

• Proven working experience in data analysis and ML modeling.
• Deep understanding of machine learning and deep learning.
• Ability to formulate business problems as machine learning problems.
• Model Evaluation
• Model interpretability / explainability.
• Proficiency in Computer vision, Natural Language Processing, anomaly detection area.
• A deep understanding of GenAI and its applications in the industry.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Communicates ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
• Bridge the gap between business and tech teams.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems in most optimal ways.
• Knowledge of the financial services marketplace is an added advantage.

Skills

• Proficiency in Python.
• Good-to-have: Experience in additional programming languages (Good to have Java or C# or both).
• Hands on with frameworks and libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, pandas etc.
• Rest services using Flask or FastAPI
• SQLAlchemy, Pydantic data modelling
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and AI Studios.
• Hands-on experience in solving practical problems using GenAI.
• Hands-on experience with leveraging LLMs for practical solutions
• Team skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally as well as externally.
• Experience of working with at least one relational database.
• Should have experience in application development and using IDEs, etc.
• Innovative thinking

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

Degree / Certification in Data science, Statistics, or related fields.

• Excellent communicator – ability to discuss technical and commercial solutions to internal and external parties and adapt depending on the technical or business focus of the discussion.
• Attention to detail – track record of authoring high quality documentation.
