What You’ll do:

The Cisco UCS Compute BU is looking for a domain expert, Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) for Compute platform performance on Cisco UCS platforms and help resolve issues faced by customers. The right candidate will have an opportunity to validate Compute & AI performance across Cisco UCS platforms.

The technologies you would be exposed but not limited to are the following:

• Compute: Cisco UCS B-Series and C-Series servers, Intersight and UCS Manager.
• Networking: Fabric Interconnects, Nexus 9k
• Virtualization: VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM.
• Hardware Acceleration; CPU, GPUs for computational acceleration.
• Automation Tools: Python, and other management software

Role also includes the following:

• Conduct performance tests on UCS hardware and software (CPUs, GPUs, Storage).
• Use industry-standard benchmarking tools (e.g., MLPerf, SPEC, FIO, vdbench) to evaluate system performance.
• Provide technical guidance to improve UCS performance for specific customer environments
• Build performance benchmarks, analyse results, and develop technical marketing materials (white papers, standard process guides, presentations
• Solve Cisco UCS platform related performance issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, and sales teams to ensure industry-leading UCS performance
• Support Cisco Technical Support post-sales for performance debugging and optimizations
• Must be a self-starter and a teammate.

Who You’ll work with:

We collaborate with engineering teams on product development and optimization, aligns with product management on features and roadmaps, supports sales teams with technical expertise, assists technical support in resolving customer issues, and develops marketing materials. They also provide mentorship to customers, work with partners and vendors for compatibility, ensure QA benchmarks are met, and help build training materials for internal teams and customers.

Who You Are:

• Seeking candidates with 8 or more years of industry experience with Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a technical discipline.
• Must be a self-starter and a great teammate.
• Compute, Network & Storage experience.
• Must be Flexible, enthusiastic, and capable of learning new products and technologies.
• Ability to set and meet deadlines,
• Excellent problem-solving skills,
• Demonstrated communications skills and experience in creating Standard process guides, technical whitepapers.

Desired Skills

• In-depth knowledge in Cisco UCS: B-Series/C-Series servers, Fabric Interconnects, UCS Manager
• Proficient in AI/ML frameworks, including TensorFlow and PyTorch, with experience in distributed frameworks like Keras and Horovod for scalable machine learning models.
• Knowledge of Python tools is preferred.
• Proficient with benchmarking tools: SPEC, MLPerf, FIO, Vdbench
• Knowledge of popular machine learning algorithms and and deep learning architectures.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML workflows, model training, inference, and deployment across different platforms.
• Hands-on experience with AI specific MLPerf benchmarks is a plus.
• Understand high-performance computing (HPC), GPU workloads, and other AI infrastructure components.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux OS and familiarity with virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Optimize UCS compute infrastructure for high-performance AI/ML training and inference.
• Experience in performance engineering, especially AI/ML systems
• Implement automated performance benchmarking tools and frameworks using Python.
• Flexible, enthusiastic, and quick to learn new technologies
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills: experience creating standard methodologies guides and technical whitepapers
