About the position

Your key responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

• Project Management: Lead innovative digital initiatives within Data Orchestration as well as across the Data Science organisation.
• Innovation management: Manage a think tank innovation challenge whilst driving the adoption of a cross-disciplinary Data Science Innovation Management program as a process-oriented service to take novel Data Science activities from ideation to maturation, integrated with core strategies.
• Design thinking: Apply design thinking principles to the ideation process, fostering creativity and user-centric solutions and facilitate design thinking workshops, trainings, design sprints that aid our team of Data Leads with the seamless and widespread integration of novel Data Science methodologies
• Value creation and realization: Track value creation and ensure that we are investing our resources and management attention in initiatives that strategically matter to Novo Nordisk in the space of data science.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain process documentation, including status reports and records of lessons learned. Provide regular updates and reports on process status to senior management and other relevant stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
• Process optimization: Manage and optimize the data orchestration portfolio dashboard, called Target Data Profile, for real-time overview whilst ensuring connectivity with other parts of the Novo Nordisk value chain.
• Connected execution: Weave an “ organizational fabric” of connected execution on top of the existing corporate structures in Data Science to ensure a connected approach and co-create a sense of belonging in a landscape of constant change.

Qualifications

We are establishing a strong team who are highly supportive of each other, with diverse capabilities to complement each other, and are looking to onboard a candidate with a solid project management toolbox and experience in management consulting, client-facing roles, and developing and executing strategies. To succeed:

• You have academic degree in Business or Science, and you have 6+ years of project and portfolio management experience in a scientific (pharma or life science) setting
• Design Thinking expertise and a familiarity with design thinking methodologies and their application to problem-solving and innovation
• Understanding of novel Data Science methodologies (e.g. novel biostatistical methods Clinical trial simulations, Real World Evidence, ‘Big Data’/machine learning, Medical imaging, Generative AI, Large language models, Wearable devices, etc.) is preferred
• You have a tireless drive, naturally spearheading change in large organisations and have a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry value chain, governance and product development
• Strong analytical and financial skills, and the ability to assess and credibly challenge data and concepts across a large span of content, often towards technical expert stakeholders, is critical
• Experience driving digital transformation projects is a must.

About the department

Data Orchestration is a newly established unit in the Novo Nordisk Data Science Development organisation, responsible for strategic planning of data generating activities ranging from early product development to post-launch. Data Science is a key strategic driver of a more holistic and integrated 5D (Drug, Device, Diagnostic, Digital, Data) product development approach and committed to unlock transformational data-science innovations by fostering their seamless integration into clinical programs
