Job Description

As a member of our Data Commerce Solutions group, you will build and take ownership of the design and development of data engineering & web applications projects within Fiserv’s Enterprise Data Commerce Solutions division. You will apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the data web applications lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders daily to stay focused on common goals.

You will be responsiblefor building and taking ownership over responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using Java on the back end and React or Angular on the front-end. You should have a strong understanding of both technologies and be able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solution cloud-based systems using APIs and write complex and efficient queries. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to architect, build, and launch new data models that provide intuitive analytics to the team and build web applications expertise and own data quality for the pipelines you create.

What you will do:

• Develop and maintain web applications using Java and either React or Angular, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Design and implement responsive user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Write clean and efficient Java code to build scalable and robust back-end systems, including APIs, services, and data manipulation.
• Integrate front-end components with back-end systems, ensuring seamless communication and optimal performance.
• Implement and maintain database structures using SQL or NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, or similar.
• Perform thorough testing and debugging to identify and fix issues, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, bug-free applications.
• Collaborate with team members in code reviews, pair programming sessions, and knowledge sharing activities.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in Java and front-end development, applying new technologies and best practices when appropriate.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies.

What you will need to have:

• 6-10 years of overall industry experience, with at least 6+ years' experience in building large-scalable web applications development, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer, with a strong proficiency in Java and either React or Angular, to build responsive user interfaces with solid understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Proficiency & Hands-on in Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring, Spring Boot) with RESTful APIs and integration for building scalable and maintainable back-end systems.
• Strong understanding of cluster and parallel architecture, experience with high-scale databases and SQL, and exposure to NoSQL databases like Cassandra, HBase, DynamoDB, and Elastic Search.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and troubleshoot complex web applications.
• Conduct code reviews and strive for improvement in software engineering quality.
• Experience working with PCI Data and collaborating with data scientists. Knowledge of data governance, security, and privacy principle.

• Advanced Degrees or Certifications: Additional degrees or certifications in relevant fields.
• Front-End Frameworks: Experience with more than one front-end framework.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
