As a successful Database Analyst, you are a key leader who will lead initiatives to support our client needs and be a liaison with Development and Account Management groups to lead client expectations and resolve technical database issues impacting clients! In addition, you will proficiently execute against key business success metrics including financial targets and client experience metrics.

What you will do:

In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of our organization's database platform. Your expertise will ensure the optimal performance, integrity, and security of our critical data infrastructure. You will work with product managers, data analysts, engineers, data scientists, and client management teams to build, optimize and bring products to market. Use your strong technical experience working with large and complex data sets, and product management experience.

  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, workflows, data tables, queries, and prototypes
  • Participate in projects related to ingesting data into analytics environments
  • Understand user journeys and user experience; generate insights that establish category leadership, improve user experience and drive growth
  • Manage technical issues to resolution including problem identification, root cause analysis, and solution implementation with engineers
  • Follow standards for database design and overall data architecture to assess data quality and act as a liaison with various technical service teams which include database administrators and platform administrators.
  • Serve as an advocate for the data architecture team and data management discipline, policies, and standards across the business unit.
  • Identify opportunities for sharing and utilizing data across boundaries, thus extracting maximum benefit from the data resource.
  • Support analysts in requirements development, research, and verification.
  • Participate in full life cycle development to meet project objectives.
  • Participate in the development of software documentation.

What you will need to have:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT database administration and/or software development
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Strong knowledge of database architecture, concepts, and features
  • Proficiency in database installation, configuration, and administration
  • Familiarity with database security principles and best practices
  • Deep knowledge of best practices through relevant experience across data-related disciplines and technologies, particularly for enterprise-wide data architectures, data management, data governance and data warehousing
  • Highly competent with relational database design and structured query language (SQL)

What would be great to have:

  • Experience and/or interest in the Financial Services Industry
  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile Development methodologies
