Job Description

Responsibilities:

Technical

  • Lead the practise for digital and modelling delivery related to Integrated Mobility projects.
  • Develop and maintain a product approach around digital application development (setting up and administrating development platforms such as GitHub, Azure…) to support our mandate delivery;
  • Oversee the development and use of our various modeling and simulation tools, including existing in-house and external applications;
  • Oversee projects data collection, structure and cleaning, data analytics and valuation;
  • Develop predictive modelling capabilities using machine learning and other relevant big data capabilities;
  • Lead advisory services disciplines as part of complex multidisciplinary projects and preparing fully integrated strategic evaluation reports, business cases and feasibility studies.

Business

  • Represent and support the development of the Mobility Advisory strategy, in collaboration with all sectors and regional stakeholders (Transport Planning, Rail and Transit, Building…) with a particular focus on our digital tool development, data valuation and transport operation simulations.
  • Support the Team and participate in the region leadership team in overseeing strategy, operation, growth, and strategic initiative etc.
  • Lead and oversee projects and pursuits assigned with regards to commercial terms of the contract, including scope of services, schedule, quality, risk, resource requirements and professional fee budgets.
  • Lead and oversee funding applications (internal to WSP, external…) and other tax rebates for research and development around the team digital practice (building business cases, justifying return on investment).
  • Ensure local team management and people engagement.
  • Build a platform for team growth by providing leadership and mentorship to make team members successful and engaged.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional work experience working in the transportation and mobility field, demonstrating project leadership and advisory services capacity
  • Advanced degree in digital development, engineering or related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of transit or other mobility system operational constraints and industry priorities; specific and well-developed understanding of mobility, goods movement, or other transportation systems infrastructure requirements including customer facing experience. 
  • Proven experience in software development, data science and optimization.
  • Ability to provide expert advice to clients and partners in the areas of project development and project scoping, requirements identification, procurement strategy, risk assessment and risk management, transportation service planning and smart mobility. 
  • Experience with design and/or operation of a public works, transit, or other coordinated fleet maintenance facility. 
  • Exceptional communication, analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Committed team player with strong organizational and analytical skills.
