WSP is currently initiating a search for a Data Analyst for one of our California offices to lead and grow our Data Analytics and Business Intelligence practice supporting client projects, pursuits, and national staff throughout the U.S. The position will require experience with Microsoft Power BI report and dashboard development.

Your Impact

  • Be responsible for the delivery of business intelligence dashboards for projects and pursuits,
  • Utilize innovation and associated techniques to deliver beyond standard expectations in the AEC industry,
  • Use of report writing software for the development of reports, such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power BI,
  • Preparation of project status reports, such as annual, monthly and ad-hoc schedule and cost reports, contract awards and construction services, critical variance etc.,
  • Supporting the system process and framework to manage design and construction,
  • Prioritization and analysis of projects within strict timelines,
  • Identification and resolution of data integrity issues,
  • Working with management and staff across the department to identify user needs,
  • Support the improvement and revision of existing reporting processes and procedures,
  • Preparation of technical & training documentation and presentations, including the identification and application of new industry reporting and data organization trends,
  • Development of high-level reports.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in Microsoft Power BI development
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in data analysis and reporting 
  • Strong system analysis skills – data interpretation and explanation of condition, trends etc.
  • Excellent oral, written and communication skills
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Power BI and other data visualization tools
  • Experienced with support of project management, and financial reporting systems
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Working experience with a large public government agency or utility is a plus
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
  • Must possess a BS in Computer Science or related technical degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related technical degree
  • Experience with Primavera P6 Scheduling and AEC Cost Management Solutions
  • Experience working in the Engineering / Construction field
  • Certification in Microsoft Data Management and Analytics
