What is the Opportunity?

This role is a leadership role responsible for financial analysis and strategic projects for US Region (all RBC businesses in US). The role is a key advisor to Head of U.S FPM and US CFO. 

Responsible for managing US Region financial analysis to US senior management team including CEO, CFO, COO, management committees and to the RIHC Board.

Responsible for driving US Platform strategic projects and financial resource optimization including funding. Advise and support functional and business leadership on US region strategy and develop solutions to remediate local constraints. 

Provides leadership for financial planning and budgeting processes. Manages activities through senior managers and managers and implements strategic plans and budgets.

​What you will do?

  • Develop and manage financial performance analysis (IFRS) for US Platforms (all RBC businesses in US) on a monthly basis for US senior management and management committees, including actuals, plan, forecast, by coordinating with various businesses (Capital Markets, CNB, RBC Bank, etc.) and functions. 
  • Develop and manage the annual financial planning/budgeting and strategic 5-year outlook for US Region, in coordination with global business advisory teams for Capital Markets businesses and platform finance teams in CNB and RBC Bank.
  • Support U.S. CEO and IHC Board with execution of RBC’s U.S. strategy; Expansion of support model for U.S. CEO and US Executive Committee.
  • Produce RIHC Board and Board Committee reporting and analysis – includes quarterly financial performance updates for US region, analysis and materials to support approval of annual Operating and Strategic Plans, quarterly U.S. CFO Report to IHC Board Audit Committee and any other follow-up items requested by the Board and its committees.
  • Drive financial resource optimization (including funding) across U.S. platforms and booking locations.
  • Provide support to US CFO/senior management on strategic analysis/themes related to US Region to facilitate decision making based on regional regulatory/legal entity considerations or strategic initiatives.
  • Provide business advisory services through US business engagement, management reporting and strategic projects. Partner with the businesses as a trusted advisor to support growth and strategic initiatives and provide US region expertise including understanding of local regulatory rules and constraints impacting their business.
  • Maintain and enhance US reporting capabilities through automation, EPM enhancements, development of new analytics.
  • Support integration of finance, business advisory/business manager functions, which will drive process and resource optimization and develop platform for regional business engagement and develop finance strategy.
  • Improve FPM linkages with Head Office functions (Finance, Treasury and Risk) – linking regional metrics with enterprise, and function as an SME on head office performance metrics calculations such as RWA, Capital allocation, ROE, etc
  • Bachelor’s degree in business (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing), Data Science, Statistics, or other similar majors preferred.
  • 7- 10 years relevant experience in executive management reporting or multi-legal entities.
  • The ability to think strategically, execute tactically, be solution-focused, and solve problems.
  • Self-driven, results oriented and passion for solving problems.
  • Detailed oriented, driving data analytics to improve current state of business operations.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written, including presentation skills

Suggested Qualifications:

  • Strong financial planning and analysis background (preferably in financial services)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Financial Statements orientation and comprehension
  • Basic understanding of Capital Markets businesses and banking products and services.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across multiple functions is required.

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $150,000 - $220,00 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
