The Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration of Oracle databases. The ideal candidate will have experience with RAC, Exadata, and AWS RDS, as well as experience migrating databases on-premises to AWS RDS.

What you will do?

  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases
  • Perform database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Oracle database issues
  • Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure efficient operation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and incidents promptly
  • Perform database capacity planning and resource utilization analysis
  • Implement and maintain database security measures and access controls
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries and database design for optimization
  • Plan and implement database upgrades, patches, and migrations
  • Conduct regular database health checks and proactively address any issues
  • Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay updated with the latest Oracle database technologies and industry best practices
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members as needed
  • Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and performance of the database environment
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to database-related emergencies outside of business hours

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) are highly desirable
  • Proven experience as an Oracle DBA, with expertise in managing Oracle databases on RAC, Exadata, and AWS RDS platforms
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, administration, and performance tuning
  • Experience in database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery techniques
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL scripting
  • Familiarity with database security principles and best practices
  • Experience in planning and executing database upgrades, patches, and migrations
  • Knowledge of database monitoring and performance optimization tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues efficiently
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Experience with other database technologies and cloud platforms is a plus
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and working in an ITIL-driven environment is preferred

You will be preferred if:

  • Familiarity with AWS RDS
  • Expertise with tools like AWS SCT, DMS

The Path to Joining the Mactores Team

Pre-Employment Assessment:

You will be invited to participate in a series of pre-employment evaluations to assess your technical proficiency and suitability for the role.

Managerial Interview: The hiring manager will engage with you in multiple discussions, lasting anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, to assess your technical skills, hands-on experience, leadership potential, and communication abilities.

HR Discussion: During this 30-minute session, you'll have the opportunity to discuss the offer and next steps with a member of the HR team.
